Precision Air moves Nairobi departures to JKIA Terminal 1A

Tanzania’s Precision Air is moving its flights in Nairobi to the new Terminal 1A at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The airline will begin using Terminal 1A for departing flights from Monday, 8th September.

Precision Air mostly flies to Tanzanian destinations. Flights that will begin departing from Terminal 1A are those going to Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro.

Terminal 1A is used by Kenya Airways and airlines in the SkyTeam alliance. Precision Air is to benefit from the new terminal because Kenya Airways has a large shareholding in the Tanzanian carrier. Many Kenya Airways flights are however still operating from older buildings at JKIA, that is, Terminals 1B, 1C and 1D.

Formerly known as Terminal 4, the brand new Terminal 1A opened for partial use on 4 July 2014. It is expected that the terminal will be ready for full operations – including processing international arrivals – sometime in 2015.
