Kenya Airways to begin 787 flights to Paris on June 3

Kenya Airways will begin flying its recently-delivered Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Paris from June 3 this year as it boosts capacity on the route.

The airline’s first 787 will serve on the Nairobi to Paris route which is currently served by Boeing 767 aircraft.

“Paris is a great destination in Europe and our increased capacity there is a strategic move that will offer strong business and cultural opportunities to our customers as well as seek to expand our reach into the European market,” says Dr Titus Naikuni, Kenya Airways CEO.

The Dreamliner will be departing from Nairobi JKIA at 10:45pm local time every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; arriving at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 6:20am local time. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the Dreamliner will fly from Paris, departing the Charles de Gaulle Airport at 10:55am local time and arriving in Nairobi at 8:25pm.

Kenya Airways received its first Dreamliner on April 5, 2014, four years later than planned. The aircraft was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta and named ‘‘Great Rift Valley’. There had been indications that Kenya Airways would deploy the 787 on domestic and regional routes in April and May but this has not yet happened

Kenya Airways will receive five more 787s by the end of 2014 in addition to two Boeing 777 and three Boeing 737-800.
