The airline is increasing its flights to Nairobi because of the prospects of higher demand for passenger and cargo services. The economies of Kenya and Ethiopia have shown sustained growth in the past decade. The two countries have recently signed several agreements to boost trade and build infrastructure.

“Nairobi holds a special historical significance for Ethiopian,” says Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines. “We have been flying to the city since 1947, almost since the establishment of the airline.”

Arrival times in Nairobi will be at 1:20am, 10:20am, 12:20pm, and 6:20pm.

Ethiopian Airlines will deploy Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the flights.
